Manitoba Issues 276 Provincial Nomination Invitations in Latest PNP Draw

Maple News reports that the province of Manitoba has conducted its 235th draw under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), extending new opportunities for skilled workers aiming to settle permanently in Canada.

The draw, held on December 27, 2024, resulted in 276 Letters of Advice to Apply (LOAs) being issued across various categories. These invitations target individuals with strong ties to Manitoba and relevant work experience, particularly in in-demand occupations.

Of the total invitations, 239 were issued under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The lowest-ranked candidate invited through this stream held a score of 857, reflecting the competitive nature of the program.

An additional 18 invitations were issued through an occupation-specific selection within the same stream. This targeted draw focused on candidates in critical sectors, particularly healthcare and transportation. The specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 unit groups included:

– 31101 – Specialists in surgery
– 31102 – General practitioners and family physicians
– 31301 – Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
– 31302 – Nurse practitioners
– 73301 – Bus drivers, subway operators, and other transit operators

Further, another 19 invitations were granted to candidates under NOC 60030 — Restaurant and Food Service Managers — through a separate occupation-targeted draw. The minimum score required for this group was 632, indicating high demand in Manitoba’s hospitality sector.

Across all streams, the MPNP continues to align with labor market needs, ensuring that selected candidates contribute meaningfully to the province’s economy. These draws are a critical part of Manitoba’s strategy to attract and retain skilled talent amid ongoing workforce challenges.

Meanwhile, British Columbia has confirmed that its International Post-Graduate stream remains open to applicants until 9 a.m. on January 7, 2025, offering further pathways for international students who have recently graduated from eligible programs.

Maple News will continue to monitor provincial nominee program (PNP) developments as immigration remains a cornerstone of Canada’s economic growth strategy.
